Do you not believe, Governess, where this power comes from, you seek? It is not from the “things” you keep. I trust the Creator to take care of me. Come what may, I will stay out of your way.” Trinity, The Little People Journey into the Mystic Sea

About This Quote

The Governess was a character in the book The Little People by Jules Verne. She was the wicked leader of the mysterious little people that lived in Trinity, New York. She was very powerful, and she made it her mission to find some way to keep the little people from being exposed for what they really were. She went to extreme measures to hide them, even using her magic to imprison her daughter, who was connected with them through some kind of magical bond.

When the Governess discovered that Verne had exposed her people, she became furious and began trying to kill him with magic. She had trapped him in some kind of crystal prison, but he eventually broke out and escaped.
